The job is trucks: weights, brakes, logbooks, and the judgment calls that keep eighty thousand pounds of freight from becoming a headline. On the wrist beside the mounted Toughbook is a Resco UDT, blacked out on black nylon, a diver built in Coronado by a company a Navy SEAL founded and named for the Underwater Demolition Teams that came before the Teams. A watch with combat swimmer lineage, doing its service at highway speed instead.
