Giveaways
This page grew because people sent in their wrists and their stories. Giveaways are how some of that gets handed back. Every one runs the same way: bought and paid for by the owner, no hoops, every rule written down here before the drawing so nobody has to take anyone's word for anything.
Standing rules, every giveaway
- ▸No tagging. No sharing. No purchase. None of it is required, ever.
- ▸Winners are drawn at random and announced publicly on the Instagram page.
- ▸Only @department_of_watches will ever contact a winner, and never to ask for payment, card details, or a shipping fee. Any account that does is a scam. Report and block it.
- ▸Prizes are bought by the owner. Giveaways are a thank you, not a sponsorship.
- ▸Not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or any watch brand.
- ▸Open worldwide, void where prohibited. The only exclusions are places whose law makes a foreign drawing impossible: Brazil, Italy, and Quebec. International winners are responsible for any customs duties or local taxes; if a prize cannot lawfully ship to a winner, a substitute of equal value or a redraw applies.

No giveaway is running right now. They trigger at follower milestones, are announced only on @department_of_watches, and never require a like, a tag, or a purchase.

Two watches at 20,000
The prizes: two Seiko 5 Sports on the Pepsi bezel, automatic, brand new in the box. Bought, not sponsored, from @officerglick at Amba Watch, an NYC Detective's timepiece shop that cuts a discount for military and first responders.
The rules as announced: no likes, tagging, or purchase required; being a follower was the only ticket. The pool was every follower as of the moment the counter crossed 20,000.
The drawing: 20,137 names in the drum at the crossing, two crypto-random pulls at 8:00 PM Eastern on September 2, recorded start to finish and posted unedited on the page.

The prize: a Deep Blue DayNight Stealth Ops on a Watches of Espionage CAT strap. Seiko automatic, 300 meters, sapphire crystal, seventeen tritium tubes. Bought by the owner, sponsored by no one.
The rules as announced: no likes, tagging, or purchase required; US followers only; winner announced publicly; the pool was every follower as of the moment the counter crossed 10,000.
The drawing: all 10,004 names in the pool at the crossing went into the drum. One crypto-random pull, recorded on video and posted unedited on the page.
