Four decades after standing duty with the US Navy in London, FPO New York 09510 for everyone who ever wrote a letter home, a sailor wears a CWC G40 to the 40th anniversary reunion in Las Vegas. The watch is no accident: CWC has supplied the British military since 1972, and a British pattern service watch on an American Navy wrist is exactly the kind of souvenir a London tour leaves you with. Broad arrow on the dial, striped NATO on the wrist, old shipmates somewhere past the fence line.
SBS DiverCWC SBS Diver
A Border Patrol agent with the Horse Patrol Unit, bridling up to ride into the Peloncillo Mountains along the Arizona and New Mexico line, hunting the corridors cartel smuggling operations are currently using. Horses still reach the country that vehicles and sensors cannot, which is why the oldest unit concept in the Patrol is still on the roster. On the wrist over the brush worn sleeve is a CWC SBS Diver, the blacked out British military diver issued to the Special Boat Service, riding a sand colored strap that matches the terrain. A watch built for combat swimmers, earning its keep in the high desert instead.

A firefighter and EMT in Austria, photographed inside the cab of an emergency vehicle during a response to a 12-year-old boy suffering a seizure. The CWC Mutineer rides on a NATO strap against a heavily tattooed wrist, its blacked-out PVD case and high-contrast dial built to be read fast and read right when the seconds matter. Radios, dispatch panels, and red Sanitäter kit fill the frame around it, the ordinary backdrop of a job that is anything but ordinary. A tool watch on a working wrist, in the middle of exactly the kind of moment it was made for.
