An RCMP officer in Alberta, photographed at the end of an outstretched arm, the cruiser's crest and the letters RCMP GRC filling the background in full colour. The submission was spare. A role, a province, a watch. Sometimes that is all a wrist shot needs, because the picture does the talking, a working wrist in front of a working vehicle somewhere in big country. Alberta means long highways, long winters, and distances between calls that most departments never have to think about. On the wrist is a Longines Hydroconquest, blue dial and bezel over steel, a dive watch a long way from any ocean, which has never once stopped a dive watch from doing honest work on land. One officer, one province, one watch, and a quiet minute beside the vehicle before whatever comes next.

A patrol officer and member of his agency's instructor cadre, responsible for tactical and firearms training, photographed with kit on with kit on and a Longines HydroConquest GMT on the wrist, blue dial catching the light over the plate carrier. His reason for choosing it deserves quoting at length: much like Longines, both my agency and my role can sometimes be misunderstood, overlooked, or underrated. There is a quiet professionalism in simply doing the job well, without needing recognition. The watch accompanied him through hostage rescue training, and in his words it is a reminder of the training, responsibility, and experiences that shaped him as an officer.
