Stirling Upham Quartz
Stirling names its watches after soldiers, and the Upham carries the heaviest name in the catalog. Charles Hazlitt Upham of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force is one of only three people ever awarded the Victoria Cross twice, and the only combat soldier to receive it twice: first for Crete in May 1941, then a Bar for Ruweisat Ridge in North Africa in July 1942, where he kept leading despite severe wounds.
The quartz version keeps the GMT formula and swaps the engine for a Swiss Ronda 515.24H with a 24 hour hand, read against a bidirectional 24 hour bezel. The case is 42mm of 316L stainless steel, 11mm thick, with a screw down crown, sapphire crystal and 200 meters of water resistance.
Camp Kościuszko
The post in Poznań was renamed for Tadeusz Kościuszko, a hero of the American Revolutionary War honored in both countries, on July 30, 2022. On March 21, 2023 the Army formally established U.S. Army Garrison Poland there, the first permanent U.S. Army garrison in Poland. Camp Kościuszko is the forward post of V Corps.
