The Aquaracer is TAG Heuer's tool diver, water resistant to 300 meters with a screw-down crown, a unidirectional bezel, and a quartz chronograph movement in this reference. It is built to be read fast and run reliably, which is the entire point of a working watch. Quartz holds time through the temperature swings and shock that would knock a mechanical movement off its rate, which matters for a watch that saw both the Arctic and the Gulf.

Strike Fighter Squadron 211, the Fighting Checkmates, is a US Navy F/A-18 squadron that flies off the carrier. Between 2017 and 2024 the carrier force operated everywhere this watch went: the high north, the Strait of Hormuz through the peak of tensions with Iran, and the Red Sea. Four cruises inside that window is a hard rotation, and the watch that rode all of them earned the wrist time.
