Not every submission has a uniform behind it. This one is a recovery story. A back injury got bad enough that walking and functioning were hard. Somewhere in the middle of it came a marker: when I am better, I buy the Seaweed. The watch photographed here in the snow is that promise, kept. An Omega Seamaster Diver 300M in green, laid out with the rest of the kit. The self description was just a dude who loves watches and other cool things, which rather undersells the part about picking a target on the far side of a hard year and then walking to it. Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, Green
The Diver 300M is Omega's modern dive watch: a laser cut wave pattern on a ceramic dial, a ceramic bezel with enamel numerals, a helium escape valve on the flank of the case, and the METAS certified Master Chronometer caliber 8800 inside, rated to shrug off magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss. The green version landed in 2022 and is the one enthusiasts call seaweed. It is a serious diver that most owners will never dive.
