Timex Ironman

A member of a Crime Suppression Unit at a police department in Georgia, and the least expensive watch this page has ever run. The Timex Ironman was a gift from a father, handed over before the career started. The academy required a watch, so it went on. After graduation it stayed on, every single shift. In 2024 came a shooting in the line of duty, multiple rounds, and the Timex was on the wrist for that too. The assumption afterward was that it had been cut away and thrown out before emergency surgery, the way gear usually is. It came back instead. Timex Ironman The Ironman has been in production since 1986 and has sold in numbers most watch brands will never approach. Resin case, thirty lap memory, chronograph, alarms, and Indiglo, the electroluminescent backlight that turns the entire face green at the press of a button. It is sold in drugstores. It is not a watch anybody protects, which is exactly how one ends up on a wrist through an academy, through years of shift work, and through the worst day of a career. Crime Suppression Crime suppression units work proactively, saturating high crime areas rather than answering calls in sequence. The submitter was shot multiple times doing that job in 2024 and survived. Clothing and gear are normally cut away and discarded during trauma care, which is why the watch was written off as gone. It came back instead: stopped, stained, and no longer keeping time. Retirement is on the table now. Nothing about this watch was valuable until it was.
