An aircraft mechanic who came up turning wrenches on UH-60 Black Hawks, first in the Army and then as a contractor overseas, and now runs with an Aircraft On Ground team, the crew that flies to wherever a jet is broken and gets it moving again. He earned his A&P license in 2020, and a watch has been on his wrist for the work in Afghanistan, Kuwait, Dubai, Canada, the Bahamas, and a stack of states in between. Here the Maratac LSA rides a NATO under a Mechanix glove on a Challenger and a Citation flight line, and glows red over a maintenance manual full of handwritten rigging figures at altitude. Maratac LSA and Casio Duro Maratac is the tool-watch line from CountyComm, mil-inspired field and dive watches with sterile dials on NATO straps, built rugged and cheap enough that you never think twice about wearing one to work. The submitter's LSA rides a NATO on the flight line. Alongside it is the Casio Duro, the 200 meter quartz diver that costs about as much as a good lunch and took the swim off the Bahamas. Two watches bought to be used up, not saved. AOG Mechanic The submitter is an aircraft maintainer whose career runs from UH-60 Black Hawks in uniform and downrange to a civilian Aircraft On Ground team, the people dispatched to fix a grounded jet wherever it sits, often in austere or technical conditions. The photos are that job: engine runs and rigging checks on a Bombardier Challenger and a Cessna Citation, red cockpit light, a Mechanix glove, a wing to lean on. A watch that has logged Afghanistan, Kuwait, Dubai, and a hangar in Wyoming has earned the word tool.
